Tennis Jamaica's Coaches Education Programme aims to increase the number of qualified tennis coaches, and to improve the skills of coaches and PE teachers throughout Jamaica.

Level I Basic, Level I Advanced and Level II Tennis Coaching Certification Programmes continue to be offered on a periodic basis. Please apply to Tennis Jamaica in order to register for the next available coaching programme by completing the application form. Send it electronically to or deliver to us at, Suites 14 & 15, 22 Trafalgar Road, Kingston 10 .

In a high priority drive to enrich this vital Programme, Tennis Jamaica launched an innovative Visiting Coaches Programme in October 2005.


THE VISITING COACHES PROGRAMME 

This Programme:

 - Asks for contributions of coaching assistance from past Jamaican players and coaches, mostly based in North America, who wish to make a contribution to Jamaica.

- Also requests help from organizations such as the Jamaica Olympic Association (JOA), the Japanese Overseas Cooperation Volunteers JOCV) and resident Embassies.

- Maximizes the resources available for upgrading the skills of Jamaican coaches and PE teachers.

- Exposes juniors and school children to coaching which will enhance their development.

Louis Cayer of Canada inaugurated the Visiting Coaches Programme in October 2005.

Former Jamaican tennis champion Karl Hale, who assists Tennis Canada with their national programme, and two of his associates will contribute coaching workshop in June and September 2006. Mr Hale is also donating 264 racquets and over 10,000 used tennis balls.
